The Academic Word List was developed by Averil Coxhead at Victoria University of Wellington and represents the most useful vocabulary for university-level English. Volumes one and two cover the highest-frequency 240 words; later volumes work through the full list of 570 by sublist.
Each volume can stand alone, but learners completing the full series will have permanent command of the vocabulary foundation needed for academic success.
